KEN SWANSON, MANAGER/PARTNER

Ken started in insurance in 1990 after his uncle Gary, who was a nominee for an insurance agency, suggested he should look at insurance as a career. After obtaining his license in 1990 he became a road runner for car dealerships. Ken handled being a road runner for 16 years, and it was during this time he met Laurel Francis, who now works for him. Ken and his wife Karen were partners in a previous agency prior to joining Murrick Insurance. July 1st 2011, Ken and his wife Karen decided to challenge themselves and made a business decision to better their careers and teamed with Murrick Insurance. Ken sees Murrick Downtown expanding in staff and sales for never ending success.

KAREN SWANSON, MANAGER/PARTNER

Karen started out as a Retail Manager, after meeting Ken getting married and having children, Karen became a stay at home mom. During this time, Karen wanted more of a challenge so she started her own in house daycare service, which she successfuly managed and handled for 8 years. Once her children were much older, she decided to change her career to insurance, which Ken encouraged. Karen obtained her license in 2007, and worked with Ken at their agency prior to coming to Murrick. Karen’s goal is to expand and grow with Murrick Downtown to achieve success.

LAUREL FRANCIS

Laurel has worked for several years as a road agent, during this time she met Ken Swanson. Ken saw potential in Laurel, and talked her into coming to work with him, and they’ve now worked together for 8 years. Laurel’s future goals are to continue to be a mobile road agent in the insurance industry, to enable her to handle all her clients insurance business.

STEVE WATT

Steve originally went to BCIT and obtained his degree in Automative Business Equipment. He worked in this industry for a couple of years then decided that he wanted to change his career choice. He had met Ken Swanson during baseball season, and Ken suggested to him that he should consider insurance as a career. In 2006 Steve obtained his insurance license and went to work for Ken as a Road Agent. Steve’s future goal is to eventually own his own agency.
